Waterbirth

We offer waterbirth services to all of our clients. At your 36-week appointment we drop of the birth pool, liner, attachments for filling from a shower head, and a plastic sheet to place under the birth pool.

Research and reports from women show that:

Laboring in water is very comfortable and soothing due to the buoyancy provided by water on the body. It relaxes and softens the body. It creates a natural personal space. Mobility is increased because mom can move around in the water in ways she can’t on land. It reduces stress and blood pressure. Water is a calming and relaxing environment. Muscles relax, tension in the body is reduced. Research shows that women who birth in water have less tears, less severe tears, less interventions, and fewer complications. Women experience less pain and are more satisfied with their birth.

Babies transition to the world more gently, it’s soothing for them as well.

We do not offer birth pool rentals.
